"The New Classic" is the debut studio album by Australian hip hop recording artist Iggy Azalea, set to be released in September 2013.
Background
Iggy Azalea revealed in December 2011, that she will be releasing her debut album, The New Classic, in the first quarter of 2012. She also said she will be signing a record label deal soon and "once that's sorted out and I establish an over all sound and direction for the album I will be able to know what artists would make for a dynamic collaboration".On January 27, 2012, Iggy Azalea confirmed she had finally signed to Interscope Records and her debut album, The New Classic, would be released in June and a debut single in March. On March 26, 2012, Iggy Azalea released "Murda Bizness" as the lead single from "The New Classic". After that the album got delayed, and the song was included on Iggy Azalea's EP "Glory".On May 28, 2013, Amazon leaked the album's cover.Iggy Azalea confirmed that the cover isn't official.On June 18, she revealed that "The New Classic" will be released in September.
Recording and production
In December 2012, Iggy Azalea confirmed Tyga and Rita Ora as possible features that will be included on the album.She also revealed on Twitter that she will be singing on another track entitled "Change Your Life".In April 2013, Iggy Azalea said that she wants to do a song with Angel Haze for The New Classic.
